Hotone reditr4/19/2023 ![]() ![]() And that’s where the Loudster acts as the middleman between the player’s favorite amp tone and a speaker cabinet. However, most players still want to hear an amplified sound through a dedicated speaker cabinet. With an increasing number of guitar players saying no to hauling around big, bulky amp rigs, many are now hooking up digital multi-effects to run straight to the house. The Hotone Loudster is available now for $199.99 at most MI retailers. The Loudster is the latest addition to Hotone’s Nano Legacy Floor Series and is perfect for traveling and gigging musicians looking for an alternative to their traditional amp setup, and allowing them to house their entire fly rig on just one pedalboard. Hotone announces the release of the Loudster, a compact, portable floor-based power amplifier that’s well suited for guitar players that rely on effects pedals, amp modelers and other processors to produce their sound. It's superior physically, sounds just as good, and having XLR outs and ground lift while Line 6 Pod Go doesn't, you have to wonder how the one that's light and plastic with no XLRs can cost $500, and how does the $500 one get that bad noise so easily but the $360 one doesn't? (Neither does the ME-80 or the BP355.Learn how to become a better producer in your own home recording studio > If a Line 6 Pod Go is worth $500 then this is definitely worth $360. So if the touch screen and all the knobs and footswitches break on it, it will still be fully functional via computer. But Hotone provides a program for PC/Mac to operate the Ampero via USB. We all have "smart" phones, so we know the answer to that. ![]() It's easy to access everything and edit/save, but I wonder how long a touch screen will last. But I still record mics on the amp plus the direct out of Ampero. I prefer my Digitech BP355 for the bass still.Īmpero sounds a lot better straight to interface than the ME-80. The Ampero has some bass amp/cab options, too, but they're not great. Update: I've been making more presets and getting better at getting good distortions. I think I do like the distortions on the Boss gear a lil better, at least the various metal (zone, core, etc.). I can get really nice clean/chorus tones with Ampero, something I've been struggling to pull off with a Boss ME-80 and Katana 50 amp, not very successfully. The expression pedal is very small, but I don't use wah ever, so it's good as a volume pedal or to assign it to certain FX parameters. Must be a design flaw with the Pod Go, and it's flimsy, light plastic. That's why I got the Ampero, but it's really quiet, I don't even need to flip the ground lift. I tried a Line 6 Pod Go for $500 and it had severe ground loop noise that bypassed the noise gate, it was unusable. It has XLR outs and a ground lift switch. This could have been due to the cheap headphones the store provided though. I also tried a Kemper in the music store and wasn't very impressed. Anybody uses one and can share experiences? Value for money – I could pay more if I have to but If I get by with a couple hundreds – even better!įrom what I read the Hotone Ampero is first on my list – mainly because it seems to be the only compact unit with XLR.Compact and light – I mostly travel to rehearsals and local gigs by public transportation.Built in expression pedal – so I could leave the wah Easy user interface – so I could make small changes on the fly during rehearsals without bothering my bandmates.Built in XLR out – so I wouldn't have to bring a separate DI.Dynamics and a natural feel while playing.I' mostly concerned about quality of amp and cab modeling dynamics Having more like compressors, phasers, octavers would be nice but I guess all the modelers have these in good enough quality. I'm using bread-and-butter sounds like clean fender amp with a wee bit of reverb, overdrive, fuzz and a bit of rotary or chorus. Or rather another try as I used a Boss GT-5 for function gigs during the 90s. But as technology moves quickly I wanna give digital at least a try. I've been using my tech 21 fly rig and a good old cry baby and have great results. With the new (to me) funk band we are doing in-ear monitoring so bringing an amp seems to be pointless. ![]()
